Have you ever had an itch you couldn’t quite manage to scratch? Sometimes that can be an appropriate metaphor for when we feel like something’s missing and don’t know how to fill the void. Maybe it’s dissatisfaction with a job, a living situation, or a relationship. Whatever the case, no matter how hard you have tried, you have come up empty. Again.

Jesus met people with that same thirst for more. They were no different than us today: they did their best to exist in a world that continually beat them down and left them wanting. Nothing they had found would quench their thirst. Until they met Jesus and received what He had to give.

Only His Living Water could bring satisfaction and peace to their thirsty souls.
