Rare Snow (and Fox) Sightings by the Chesapeake Bay

Well, Annapolis, you finally did it! You came through and gave us the snow we’ve craved for two years! Last week we had wintry weather in three waves: snow, ice, and then snow again! After our unremarkable past winters, we delighted in the gorgeous scene that unfolded in our own backyard.

We keep a few working woodpiles in our yard for our fireplace. Nothing better than a crackling fire on a snowy day!

Our young cherry tree had a few early blossoms that fell prey to a thick coating of ice.

My granddaughter, Addie, convinced my daughter Melanie to go on a fox hunt throughout our community. Melanie’s secretly pretty sure they were just following dogs most of the way, but off they went on their adventure!

Here’s hoping this winter keeps rolling on with snow aplenty for this old New England heart of mine!
